UCI Precalculus

You can watch the videos for UC Irvine's online Math 1A/B (Precalculus) course without being enrolled in the course. They're available through a Creative Commons license, thanks to Sarah Eichhorn and Rachel Lehman of UCI. The "Introduction" videos are only applicable to students in the UCI course, but the remaining videos are closely matched to subtopics in ALEKS, so they're an ideal resource for students working in ALEKS.

Kahn Academy

Kahn Academy is a very well known, highly successful collection of free online courses. The geometry, algebra II, trigonometry, and precalculus courses will probably be the most useful to you when preparing for your first UCSC math course, but the more advanced courses are fantastic resources for students enrolled in those courses, and for those who've already taken the course and would like to do a little review.

Other videos

We've also provided links to other free online video resources. Some offer mathematics instruction, other offer advice on how to work efficiently in ALEKS, and some from ALEKS Corp provide an overview of the mathematical theory behind ALEKS' artificial intelligence. Please let us know if you've found anything helpful that we should share with other students!
